1998 - Formula Vauxhall Junior Class B Champion
13 fastest laps, 13 poles, 13 races. Won every race of the year, the only class ‘B’ car to set a track record!
1999 - Formula Vauxhall Junior Champion
2 track records, 4 wins, 5 fastest laps, 3 poles. Dominated the Formula from race 1! Performance at Silverstone to win the series was acclaimed as “Absolutly stunning!”- Autosport
1999 - McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year
Recieved winning acclaim.
2000 - BRDC Formula 3 Scholarship Class Champion
13 races, 13 fastest laps, 13 pole positions. The formula was refered to as “Formula Paffett” as yet again he won every race!
2000 - BRDC Silver Award Winner
The youngest driver ever to be awarded a BRDC silver award
2001 - German F.3. Championship
Racing with Keke Rosberg race team. Gary's performance was a revelation setting many fastest laps, race wins and podium finishes. Mechanical gremlins and a change of engine manufacturer mid season destroyed the opportunity of winning the championship, Gary finished 6th.
2002 - 1st German F3 Championship
In 2002. Gary totally dominated the series from the first race never to be headed. Fastest lap’s and overall wins produced a dominant result
2003 - McLaren Mercedes Test Drive
McLaren F.1. 3 test drives.
2003 - Gary was offered a F3000 fully paid drive
Regrettably the team pulled out after the first race. Gary was immediately signed for DTM by Mercedes AMG team.
2003 - Rosberg Team DTM Drive
Gary entered the world famous DTM series as part of the highly renowed Rosberg Team. Finishing 11th overall in a year old car.
2004 - Mercedes AMG DTM works drive
Gary opened the series by claiming a fantastic 1st at Hockenheim 18.04.2004 .and finished an amazing second in his first ever works drive, and first out of the AMG Mercedes Team, a head of Albers & ex F1 ace Jean Alesi to claim the Vice Championship.
